Your factory brake lines are constructed of a fabric mesh which will deteriorate over time, causing the deteriorated materials to expand under hard braking. USP lines are braided with stainless steel mesh, allowing the least amount of expansion under hard braking. Since there is minimal expansion there is a firmer pedal, and more direct pedal feel.
Additionally, exposure to the elements can cause rubber lines to soften and swell over time, creating the potential for a blow out or soft-pedal. USP stainless reinforced lines are coated in a polymer sheathing to provide protection from the elements, and prevent this type of failure.
