Brian had some unfortunate luck with his car over the past few months. After getting a few minor bolt ons and a custom tune at another shop, Brian's car ending up blowing the bottom end. After managing to get the motor covered under warranty, Brian got word of our shop and decided to bring it by to have us look over the car, and freshen up the tune. After a quick tour of the shop, seeing the multiple 700+ hp evo's in the shop, Brian could see he came to the right place.
Brian's car came in with the following mods:
HKS Catback
HKS Downpipe
HkS Intake
We quickly installed a boost controller and got the tuning under way. After looking over the mapping in the ecu, and being unimpressed to say the least, I opted out of making a baseline pull on his previous mapping. It is always nice to have a baseline pull to work against, but in a car that may or may not have lost the motor due to bad tuning, i dont feel its worth the risk.
After a few pulls, fine tuning the fuel, mivec and timing maps, i could feel that something was holding us back. Something just didnt feel right to me. So i decided to peak my head under the car and sure enough, STOCK CAT.
